She loves to learn and try out new techniques and mediums. Marissa McFadden The entire making process (from start to finish) takes roughly 2 weeks. I do not have any production employees or assistants. Wheel-throwing is the primary way in which I make pottery, I will occasionally throw a slab to make ornament magnets, or pinch very small pots for pouring wax. LuAnn Bellis
I work in mixed metals, using sterling silver, brass and copper. I also love to repurpose vintage sterling silver items with interesting designs and incorporate it into jewelry pieces and components. Gemstone cabochons, beads and various finishing techniques add texture and color to create unique designs. I enjoy creating each and every piece because of the limitless combinations of materials that can be transformed into jewelry that is both original and fun to wear. LuAnn is one of January's Featured Artists at the Artist In Residence Gallery in St. Albans, Vermont. |
Chris Bessette, I am a possibilist. I see a direction or new purpose in most things, and like to use the familiar medium of textiles to learn a new technique or explore both my limits and that of the items with which I am working. I have been learning to sew and create for 50 years. I phrase it that way that because I believe that creativity is a habit of cultivating curiosity, and I want that to be a habit of a lifetime
