Anne Standish is an art quilter.
Her work utilizes fabric, thread, paint, photos printed onto fabric, beads, and other embellishments to capture the beauty of the Vermont and New England landscape. A technique called raw edge collage enables her to make complex details of birds, flowers, and animals, both fanciful and realistic. Dense thread work brings those images alive. Terry Buehner has created jewelry for over 20 years. Each piece is one-of-a-kind and is based on a unique story. Terry's media include polymer clay, wire, wet-and-needle-felting, driftwood, stones, and repurposed items such as fabric, bicycle parts, and vintage beads.

Tess Follensbee has been creating art ever since she was five years old. Over time, her passion for art making only grew, and she began selling her work at various craft shows alongside her grandparents. Through primarily acrylic paint and mixed media, she explores subjects from portraiture and figures to silly animals. In the fall of 2024, she will be starting her first year of college at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts.

Wayne Tarr is a full-time photographer who enjoys photographing a variety of events, and portraits. His latest photography adventure is photographing dancers and models underwater. Wayne has won numerous awards at the state, regional and national level. The highest awards he won are his 14 selections to the PPA Traveling Loan Collection, and these selections earned Wayne the PPA High Level of Excellence Award in 2015. He became a Certified Professional Photographer and earned his Master of Photography degree in 2006, and became a Photographic Craftsman in 2015.

Natalie LaRocque has immersed herself in the beauty of nature. As a Vermont inspired artist she feels compelled to capture the images she sees and share them through her paintings and photography. Natalie's paintings can sometimes be quite large, with hopes of enabling the viewer to experience the same sense of inspiration and gratitude that generated her artistic expression.

Martha McGinn's background in chemistry and medical research informs her approach to the deep colorful glazes of her functional pottery. Explorations in texture, shape, and color result in an ever-expanding body of work. In addition to her wheel-thrown and slab-built work, Martha sculpts expressive “healing heart angels”.

Susannah Sakal As a lifelong creator and maker, I am constantly inspired to tell a story through various types of artistic expression. I have worked with many mediums over the years, each one resulting in a different expression of the same universal message. I find myself inspired by patterns of the natural world, drawing inspiration from observing the patterns that describe the energy of oceans, rivers, lakes, and forests.

Barbara Colgrove’s life has always revolved around the visual arts as a path of creative expression and communication. Her pottery emphasizes her interest in decorative patterns and design, and conveys her belief in the magic within the transformation from wet earth to beautiful objects which can be held and used.

Barbara Flathers, My work aims to be useful, functional and unique. I want it to be enjoyable for someone to use, aesthetically pleasing to touch, hold and to look at. I don’t strive to replicate, but instead create in a series that helps to inform the subsequent work. My inspirations come from nature: my observations of the world around me, the colors, textures and patterns in the world that I notice. With my clay body, I focus on creating containers. I want my work to be used and handled by others.

Dorothy Goulet, I use watercolor, ink, and other media to interpret what beauty I see and feel in the world around me, including landscapes, florals, animals, colors, and movement. In a world with so much non-art, my contribution is to make something that can cause us to see the good side of all of us. Any problem in society that cannot fully be solved by education can be solved by art.

Marissa McFadden The entire making process (from start to finish) takes roughly 2 weeks. I do not have any production employees or assistants. Wheel-throwing is the primary way in which I make pottery, I will occasionally throw a slab to make ornament magnets, or pinch very small pots for pouring wax. But generally, when I am making art, it is on the wheel.

Sarah Rosedahl is an artist, illustrator, cartoonist and recovering software engineer. After working in the high tech industry for 30 years in California and New Orleans, Sarah now lives in Vermont where she is inspired by the wildlife and agriculture of the Lake Champlain Islands. Sarah works in watercolor, acrylic and mixed media and especially enjoys painting birds, both wild and domestic.

Patrick Murphy had a traditional art education and became a high school art teacher. In addition to constantly drawing, he prefers to paint in oils. Patrick loves the little towns of Northern Vermont and New York, and his latest paintings feature scenes from these locations. Just as Patrick does, viewers can imagine walking down the streets, and entering the buildings.

Meta Strick is a life-long artist who has explored multitudes of materials and processes, in combination with other people’s "junque", to make figurative mixed media art works. For over thirty-five years Meta taught many art courses at Community College of Vermont. After retirement, she continues to offer workshops at her studio.

El Towle as a retired Art Teacher I enjoy spending my winters stoking the fires and working on themed painting series. Having my home and studio on Lake Champlain inspired my latest vibrant series of work. Misty lake scapes, sunsets, birds on the shore, giant flowers from my garden, are just a few examples of the subjects I explored in preparation for this show. I enjoy working in several mediums and especially enjoy the richness of oil paint or the translucency of acrylic.

Maureen Genzlinger makes decorative fiber ornaments using a variety of materials including silk ribbons, hand spun and hand dyed threads, and textured yarns. Since she began this pursuit in 1979, her process has evolved to include complex wrapping techniques. In addition to single ornaments, multiple forms are combined into mobiles and beautiful display stands are created from reclaimed wood scraps.

Barry Genzlinger learned as a child to build things, and was taught by his grandfather to turn wood pieces on a lathe. In recent years he discovered an aptitude for making small things, first spinning tops and then small bowls, using a wide variety of woods, including reclaimed and repurposed wood. His smallest piece, to date, is a goblet that is only 1/4 inch in diameter.

Martha McGinn is a "hobby potter" working on the potters wheel and sculpting "heart healing" angels, in her pottery studio on the shores of Lake Champlain. She finds joy and meditative thoughts as she expresses herself in the wide array of colorful glazes used on her functional stoneware pieces and in her "love infused" angels. She loves to learn and try out new techniques and mediums. Her favorite process includes meditation, music and aromatherapy paired with a blank slate and pops of color on the pallet to create a piece of intuitive art.

I work in mixed metals, using sterling silver, brass and copper. I also love to repurpose vintage sterling silver items with interesting designs and incorporate it into jewelry pieces and components. Trish Vaillancourt began sketching and painting in childhood, and later received training in commercial art. She continues to develop her skills through various workshops and classes, enabling her to expand her depictions of the local landscapes and animals she loves.

Janice DeCooman, Janice creates fiber art, often using angora from her beloved French angora rabbits and natural indigo dye grown in her garden. She enjoys sculpting fiber by needle felting anything from journal covers and wall art to her favorite animals including the rabbits she raises and the canaries that fill her house with song. Janice blends and spins fiber into yarn and knits or weaves them into wraps, capes or hats. Each unique piece is created with a variety of fibers infused with nature's magic; soft wools, silk, angora and mohair, sparkling fibers and delightful textures.

Barry Genzlinger learned as a child to build things, and was taught by his grandfather to turn wood pieces on a lathe. In recent years he discovered an aptitude for making small things, first spinning tops and then small bowls, using a wide variety of woods, including reclaimed and repurposed wood.

Maureen Genzlinger makes decorative fiber ornaments using a variety of materials including silk ribbons, hand spun and hand dyed threads, and textured yarns. Since she began this pursuit in 1979, her process has evolved to include complex wrapping techniques. In addition to single ornaments, multiple forms are combined into mobiles and beautiful display stands are created from reclaimed wood scraps.

Cherie Marshall Color and form are the key elements of Cherie's work. She is inspired by what she sees in nature and by other forms of artwork, which she reinterprets in glass. She is passionate about exploring the multitude of possibilities within the medium of glass and looks forward to continuing her studies.

David Juaire's early years on a dairy farm provided him with an appreciation of the beautiful pastoral scenes of Vermont.

Shanna Ratner displays her framed original acrylic and watercolor paintings as well as original block prints that are individually carved, inked, pulled, and sometimes painted. Block print appliques that can be easily ironed onto shirts, pillowcases and more are available. Shanna also produces tile mosaic trivets and paper earrings, both made from recycled materials. Each mosaic and set of earrings is unique and has its own natural variations.

Deborah Shell Clay has been a medium in which I am completely at home. Inspired by clay’s capacity to produce textures, shapes and utility, my work is a combination of all three. The capacity for clay to convey emotion pleases me, especially when considering the opportunity to create a piece such as mug or a teapot that will brighten someone’s day.

Sally Tarr, as a Fiber Artist Sally has taken the art of felting wool to a higher level. Her work includes historic reproductions of the “penny rug” and works the format to make them more contemporary, and in other useful products. Sally also produces whimsical pictures made of appliquéd wool. “I have always enjoyed exploring new techniques in my art and now include felted soaps and needle felted figures.” Sally’s collection includes a wide variety of holiday wool pieces. Her newest art work includes quilling or paper filigree, a beautiful and delicate paper art.

Pam Krout-Voss is best known for her art works using fibers, including vessels wrapped in varied textures and colors, and sculptures of birds, pears, and animals. In addition to her fiber work, Pam creates handmade journals and sketchbooks which incorporate fibers and her own decorated papers.

Sarah McGarghan has combined her love of travel with her passion for photography and considers herself a travel photographer. Sarah’s photography portrays the spirit, the heart, and the heat of the moment, evoking emotion, and conversations as seen through the lens.

Deborah Travis is a watercolor painter and fiber artist. Both her watercolors and her fiber works incorporate drawing, various dyes, and resists. She utilizes shibori techniques, marbling, and painting in her mixed media quilts, hangings, and wearable art.

Jennifer Buckner began studying stained and fused glass work thirty years ago and has explored many techniques. She portrays the flora and fauna of the natural world with skill, imagination, and humor.

Toby Fulwiler Woodturner/artisan, turns bowls and fashions kitchen implements from local hardwoods, including sugar maple, black cherry, butternut, apple, and ash, many found on his farm in Vermont. He specializes in classic and natural-edge bowls turned for everyday use and aesthetic appeal.

Patrick Murphy had a traditional art education and became a high school art teacher. In addition to constantly drawing, he prefers to paint in oils. Patrick loves the little towns of Northern Vermont and New York, and his latest paintings feature scenes from these locations. Just as Patrick does, viewers can imagine walking down the streets, and entering the buildings.

Donna Blatchly makes one-of-a-kind knit and felted hand bags and has expanded her techniques to include such items as bowls and bangle bracelets. In addition to fiber arts, Donna creates unique imagery using pebbles and other found objects.
