Anne’s roots are in sewing and quilting, and art quilts are her avocation. She has devoted most of her creative energy to finding new ways to make representa-tional images of real places with fabric, photographs printed onto fabric, thread and paint. Anne’s inspiration comes from her surroundings – the landscapes she sees every day around her home in Cambridge, Vermont. Most of her latest work is inspired by her own or others’ photographs. She carries her camera while out cross country skiing, cycling, hiking, or kayaking. She strives to stay true to her traditional quilting roots by piecing at least part of each quilt, applying dense threadwork to the three layers which comprise a traditional quilt. Anne is an award winning artist, achieving recognition at local, regional and national quilt shows. Anne is an emerging artist, devoted to the promotion of fiber arts in northern Vermont. Her work is part of the permanent collection in the chapel at Northwestern Medical Center, in St. Albans, Vermont. Anne recently retired after 34 years as a nurse practitioner in family practice. When she is not in her studio, or teaching workshops, she is outdoors, moving under her own power.
