Art can easily connect all ages and subject matters. I have experienced art crossing barriers between individuals, bringing groups together, sparking creativity in regimented environments, and easing the understanding of new topics. Art has been a part of my life since I was a child, my mother taught art throughout both my elementary and high school years. She initiated the spark within me that grew into a love for art. Thank you Mom!
My work ranges in mediums, as I enjoy dabbling, creating, evolving, and expanding my range of expressions beyond my comfort mediums. I received my BA in Fine Arts from Purdue University. My degree focused in Printmaking and Painting and during my college years printmaking stole the show with its varied processes. One of my college professors was a master printer and her passion and love for every element of printmaking was infectious.
As an artist I have always enjoyed developing imagery that would visually express my idea or emotion without words. The freedom to bend and change your visual perspective of a subject through artistic expression can prove to be both therapeutic as well as educational. On more than one occasion, I would start a piece which would evolve into a completely new idea as the process inspired me to research the subject deeper and challenge my initial viewpoint. It is this continuous learning, developing of ideas and imagery that keeps art a strong passion in my life. I am inspired by nature around me and the human form. I tend to integrate them into most of my work. My work begins from a sketch that can be based off of my imagination or a real-life study. I find it refreshing to combine the two regularly. I currently reside in the beautiful town of Fairfield, VT. Here I enjoy exploring the outdoors with my family and finding inspiration for my artwork.
