CAT MCKEEN
|
Cat has always felt most comfortable outside, in the woods, a horse barn or discovering new scenery. In 1984, while living on a ranch in Colorado, she bought her first camera and started to capture the natural world around her.
When she returned to Vermont in the late 80’s she became a professional photojournalist for automotive events, traveling throughout North America from Maine, to Baja, California and Inuvik in the Northwest Territories. Eventually she hung up the well-worn Canon F1 and took advantage of the new digital photography to focus her new camera on Vermont. She works without filters to capture the astonishing moments that can often be missed in our busy lives. The photos are printed on aluminum, canvas and paper, and, in tribute to the history of Vermont, some of the images are mounted on 1800’s barnboard. Currently Cat is expanding her love of art to include mixed media along with her photography. |
