Gillian is a child of British ex-patriots who settled by way of Montreal on a small beef farm in Richford Vermont. She feels that the rugged farm life she led, along with geographical isolation helped her build character and has added to her ability to see art in every aspect of life.
Gillian was excited to try pottery during her Freshman year of college, but gave it up quickly in favor of more at-the-time “interesting” activities. She re-visited it again twenty years ago and fell in love with it. Again, after a year, she gave it up in order to have a family and a career. She entertained herself in the meantime with a love of photography. In the last couple of years, since her children have become more independent, she dared to foray again into the world of pottery, knowing full well that it would become an obsession. She now tries to balance her life as a mother, her career as a Mental Health Counselor and her new obsession with throwing pots in the basement.
