Lori Niederer’s has been painting for many years. Her current watercolors are inspired by the skies, mountains and lakes of Vermont and New York. She strives to share the beauty she finds with others through a continuing study of light and color and impressions. She lives in Fairfield, Vermont and the Adirondacks of New York where she skis, sails, canoes and roams around.
Always inspired by the natural world, she finds a variety of ways to express the beauty she finds. Her copper wall hangings are created using a combination of torch effects and chemical patinas on copper plate. Her three-dimensional drawings are inspired by the flowing lines of animals in motion. She also creates sculptural works using rocks from Vermont mountain streams. Using the natural characteristics of the rocks and added color and carving, she then forges steel structures to support them. Lori is always experimenting with materials and ways to use them.
