I am a native Vermonter and I have been crafting since I was young. My mother taught me to sew and by the age of ten I was making my own clothes. Through high school I sewed for others making prom, bridesmaid, and wedding dresses. My mother also painted, created silk floral arrangements along with many other crafts and was an amazing cook. I am so grateful for all she taught me.
I had always wanted to try my hand at painting. In the early 80’s my life changed drastically. I had two young boys and at that point they were more independent, not requiring my constant attention. So, I thought now is as good a time as ever. I bought an easel, set of brushes, paints and my first canvas. My first painting was from a childhood memory. Hangs in my living room to this day. I then moved on to painting on slate, wood, glass, sap buckets and even EMU eggs. I have made large gemstone pendants with sterling silver wire wrapped bails as well. Each has its own set of challenges, but love working with them all and have been hooked ever since. My latest adventure has been working with sea glass, creating framed wall art and shadow boxes. Love the look and the fact that the glass has been worn down by mother nature and can now be repurposed. I purchase my sea glass from small, independent women owed businesses from around the world. The majority comes from the coast of Spain. Hope you enjoy my creations as much as I love creating them,
