Deborah Travis is a watercolor painter and fiber artist inspired by natural environments. Her botanical prints on paper and fabric are created with dyes and plants sourced from nature. She also uses indigo, cyanotypes, and monoprints to capture these moments of inspiration.
Deborah studied with watercolor painter Lawrence Goldsmith of VT and Monhegan and explored Chinese and Japanese painting techniques with artists such as Lian Zhen. She has also studied Indigo Shibori and dye techniques with artist Carol Gotrian, Ana Lisa Hedstrom, and others.
Deborah Travis received her MA in Art Therapy through Vermont College and has worked as a therapist and Clinical Nurse Specialist for many years. Her works are exhibited throughout VT and New England.
