Dorothy Goff Goulet teaches several high school subjects online for the Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative (VTVLC). She spent nearly two decades traveling the globe - working for the US Department of Defense school system - settling in Vermont with her husband and four pets in 2016.
Her teaching experience for the Department of Defense includes art, history, geography, English, and humanities. She enjoyed assignments in Poland, on Guam, and for almost 15 years in Germany. Currently, her Adjunct Instructor teaching assignment with VTVLC includes French I and II, Honors French III and IV, Intro to Psychology, AP Psychology, Women's Studies, and Sociology I and II. Dorothy (Dot) holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and a Ph.D. in Instructional Leadership. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dot began to learn watercolor and fell in love with the medium after a failed attempt to learn to sew. She is now primarily a watercolorist, but she also experiments with a wide range of art supplies and creates mixed-media pieces. Dot custom-frames all of her own work, which includes watercolor, acrylic, gouache, ink, foil, gold leaf, and combinations of the mediums on different sufaces. Dot's preferred subjects are pets, homes, landscapes, and botanicals. Her very favorite subject is trees. Her style explores movement, color, and negative space to create vibrant abstract pieces and semi-representational work. Her signature style is the use of negative space in her substrate to bring the shapes and color of the piece forward. [email protected] www.dorothygoulet.com |
